U.S. LAUNCHES HELICOPTER LASER PROJECT

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Pentagon has launched a program to develop a lasersystem to protect military helicopters. The project is meant to develop a helicopter self-defense system meantto protect against the threat of advanced anti-aircraft missiles. Theprogram is meant to last until the end of 2006.
