ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The pledge by Gulf Cooperation Council states tocooperate in the U.S.-led war against terrorism is not expected to producesignificant results. Gulf defense sources said most GCC states will focus on domesticthreatsfrom Islamic insurgents rather than plots being hatched against U.S. andWestern interests in the region. The sources said the GCC does not havetheintelligence resources or the will to launch a genuine effort againstanti-Western forces.
