UAE INTENT ON DEVELOPING AIRCRAFT TRAINER

ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The United Arab Emirates plans to continue to develop aEuropean-built trainer for both deployment and export. Industry sources said the UAE air force have been working with theEuropean Aerospace Defence and Space Co. for the development of the Makolight combat trainer aircraft. The Mako is meant to save the UAE flighthours in training pilots to fly such Western aircraft as the F-16.
