UN MAINTAINS FORCE STRUCTURE IN LEBANON

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United Nations Security Council has agreed toLebanon's request to maintain the size and force structure of peacekeepersin Lebanon. The agreement came as part of a Security Council decision to extend themandate of the UN Interim Forces in Lebanon for another six months. The newmandate expires on January 31, 2002.
