U.S. MAINTAINS OPPOSITION TO TECH TRANSFER TO TURKEY

ANKARA [MENL] -- The United States has maintained its opposition to thetransfer of advanced technology for Turkey's attack helicopter coproductionproject. Turkish officials said the Pentagon did not succumb to appeals by Ankarafor the technology required to produce a mission computer for the AH-1Z KingCobra attack helicopter. The U.S. opposition has stymied negotiationsbetween Ankara and the U.S. Bell Textron, which manufactures the aircraft.
