U.S. EXPLORES NEW RESTRICTIONS ON DUAL-USE TECH
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States is consulting allies on the draftingof new export restrictions of dual-use technologies. U.S. officials said the Bush administration has launched an effort topersuade such countries as Britain, France, Germany and Japan on therestriction of dual-use exports and technologies. The effort, they said,would bolster the Wassenaar Arrangement, signed by 33 countries and whichrestricts technology that can be employed by the military.
