U.S. PREPARES FOR GREATER PRESENCE IN GULF

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States is quietly preparing for a greatermilitary presence in the Persian Gulf. The presence would include an increase in ground troops and combataircraft along the Kuwaiti border with Iraq. U.S. defense sources said thiscould signal the next stage of Washington's war against terrorism.
