U.S. TO REMAIN ON ALERT IN GULF

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States plans to maintain a military alert inthe Gulf over July 4 holiday. U.S. officials said the alert concerns that of an Islamic attack againsttroops and military installations in the Persian Gulf. They said U.S.warships would continue to stay offshore at least for the next few days.
