U.S. TO PROVIDE HELP FOR LEBANESE MINE-CLEARING

NICOSIA [MENL] -- The United States plans to provide equipment and trainingto help Lebanon clear tens of thousands of mines in the south of thecountry. The U.S. aid includes the provision of ambulances, mine-detectors,military vehicles and training. The U.S. effort is also meant to train18dogs to detect mines. Seven of the canines are already searching for minesin southern Lebanon.
