TURKEY BEGINS DEPLOYMENT OF UPGRADED F-4 JETS

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey's air force has introduced into service the firstupgraded F-4E fighter jets. The Phantoms arrived this week and comprise the first of 54 F-4 jetsbeing upgraded in a project led by the state-owned Israel AircraftIndustries. IAI is also leading a project to upgrade 48 Turkish F-5fighters.
