Iraqi Police Receive U.S. Cargo Trucks
BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The Iraqi National Police has received another shipment of
U.S.-origin cargo trucks.
The Iraqi police acquired 82 Ford F-550 cargo trucks from the United
States. The shipment, which arrived on June 28, was meant to enhance the
logistical support capabilities to National Police units.
"This truck will provide expanded and rapid transportation capabilities
that we desperately need and is a great truck for our mission," Iraqi Brig.
Gen. Alaa Nouri Al Azawi, commander of the police's Sustainment Brigade,
said.
Officials said the F-550, with a one ton load capacity, was ordered for
emergencies and police operations. They said the transfer was arranged by
the Interior Ministry to accelerate development and capabilities of the
National Police.
