U.S. PREPARES TO RECONCILE WITH LIBYA
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States is preparing for an upgrade inrelations with Libya. Arab diplomatic sources said an announcement of a resumption ofrelations could be issued after the current appeal by a Libyan agentconvicted by an international court for the bombing of a U.S. airliners in1988. The agent, Abdul Basset Megrahi, appealed his life sentence in frontof a Scottish court on Wednesday. Megrahi's co-defendant, Al Amin KhalifaFahima was acquitted a year ago.
