TURKEY CONFIRMS CONTINUED M-60 TALKS WITH ISRAEL

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has confirmed a resumption of negotiations withIsrael for the upgrade of the M-60 main battle tank. Turkish officials said the government in Ankara has not reached a finalagreement with the state-owned Israel Military Industries. But they said thegovernment is already obtaining loan guarantees to help finance theestimated $700 million project to upgrade 170 tanks.
