ABSENCE OF SANCTIONS REVIVES LIBYAN MISSILE PROGRAM

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States is expressing increasing concern overLibya's missile development programs. U.S. officials said Libya has revived its short- and medium-rangemissile programs since the United Nations lifted sanctions in 1999. Theysaid Libya has acquired massive help from both Asian and European suppliersin such areas as missile components and technology.
