U.S. SAID TO INSTALL PATRIOTS ALONG IRAQI BORDER

LONDON [MENL] -- The United States is said to have deployed Patriot missilesnear the Kuwaiti border with Iraq as part of preparations for the waragainst President Saddam Hussein. The London-based A-Sharq Al Awsat daily published on Friday a satellitephotograph that the newspaper said was that of a U.S. Patriot missiledefense battery in a Kuwaiti air base. The newspaper said that over the lastyear both the United States and Britain have installed the missile batteryin an effort to convert the Kuwaiti facility into an allied forward base inany war against Iraq.
