TURKEY APPEARS READY TO AWARD M-60 CONTRACT

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Turkey is said to be ready to complete a contract for theIsraeli upgrade of the M-60 main battle tank. Israeli officials said Turkey's Defense Ministry would concludenegotiations for a contract of at least $700 million next month. They saidthe state-owned Israel Military Industries is the favorite for themodernization of 170 tanks.
