U.S. TO SUPPLY MILITARY AID TO YEMEN

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has decided to supply additionalmilitary aid to Yemen in efforts to bolster the Arab country's ability tocombat Islamic insurgents. U.S. officials said the aid would include military funding as well asthe prospect to purchase defense systems. Officials said Washington wants tobolster Yemeni security amid an alert that Islamic insurgents intend toattack American citizens or installations in the Arab country.
