BAHRAIN'S ISLAMISTS COULD RESTRICT U.S. MILITARY PRESENCE
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- A debate has been launched in Bahrain over new laws thatincrease restrictions on Muslims and their affect on the Western militarypresence in the kingdom. The debate pits liberals against conservatives in the aftermath of thevictory of Islamic fundamentalist groups in Bahrain's parliamentaryelections. The elections were followed by a government ban on the Muslimpurchase of alcohol.
