WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United Nations Security Council has renewed theIraqi oil-for-food program for nine days amid U.S. demands to restrictadditional dual-use imports. The UN program has normally been renewed for six-month intervals. Butthe United States wants to prevent Iraq from obtaining such items ascommunications equipment and nerve gas antidotes, which could be used in anywar launched by Washington.
