EU REMAINS CONCERNED OVER TURKEY'S MILITARY

ANKARA [MENL] -- The European Union remains concerned over the prospect ofanother intervention by Turkey's powerful military amid the emergency of anew Islamic-oriented government. Turkish diplomats said the EU concern has been expressed privately inmeetings ahead of the Copenhagen summit on Dec. 12 that will consider newmembers. The Republic of Cyprus is regarded as a shoo-in while Turkeyremains a long shot.
