ISRAEL HOPES TO REVIVE AIRCRAFT DEFENSE PROGRAM
TEL AVIV [MENL] -- The government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon will reviewrecommendations shelved for the last two years to develop and installmissile warning systems on Israeli civilian aircraft. Officials said the recommendations of the National Security Council wereexpected to be resubmitted and examined by the Defense Ministry andTransportation Ministry in wake of the failed Al Qaida attack on an Israelipassenger airliner in Kenya last week. The recommendations called for thecompletion of the development of a missile warning system for civilianaircraft and the mandatory installation on all Israeli airliners.
