U.S. STOPS N. KOREAN SCUD SHIPMENT OUTSIDE YEMEN

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- In the first such move in years, the United States hasseized a shipment of Scud missiles sent by North Korea. U.S. officials said they were not certain of the destination of theScuds but assessed that it was Yemen. They said the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleetseized the Scud shipment in the Arabian Sea near Yemen in an operationcoordinated with the Spanish Navy. Spain is part of a multinational effortto monitor Al Qaida insurgents in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea.
