U.S., TURKEY NEGOTIATE AID PACKAGE

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey and the United States have launched formalnegotiations over a U.S. compensation package for Ankara's participation inany war against Iraq. Turkish and U.S. officials reported progress in negotiations held overthe weekendin Ankara and said an agreement was reached in principle over what theytermed the structure of an aid package. A senior Bush administrationdelegation conducted the talks withthe government of Prime Minister Abdullah Gul.
