TURKEY REPORTS DROP IN U.S. COMPENSATION OFFER

ANKARA [MENL] -- The United States is said to have reduced its militarycompensation package to Turkey for Ankara's participation in any U.S.-ledwar against Iraq. Turkish officials said the compensation package presented by the Bushadministration has fallen far short of the original estimate of $3.5billion. They said the real value of the package appears to be between $1billion and $2 billion.
