APPEAL FOR NEW MODEL FOR TURKEY'S DEFENSE INDUSTRY

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey might consider a new model for its defense industryamid a stalemate with the United States over an attack helicoptercoproduction program. Officials said the model being considered by the Defense Ministry wouldstress training, technology transfer and joint marketing. They said theseelements are being examined as taking higher priority over coproduction ofplatforms.
