RAMALLAH [MENL] -- The Palestinian Authority has submitted plans to
establish a military communications network.
PA sources said U.S. security coordinator Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton has
approved PA plans for a military communications network. The sources said
the network would comprise of a command and control system that would be
linked to all PA forces and security installations.
"The PA wants a system that would ensure constant contact with
commanders and forces," a PA source said.
Under the proposal, the U.S. military and contractors would help
establish a C2 network throughout the West Bank. The network would enable
interservice operations and overall command by PA headquarters in Ramallah.
