U.S. MILITARY CLAIMS SUCCESS AGAINST CAR BOMBS
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military has reported success in foiling 50percent of car bombings in Iraq's capital. Officials said U.S. and Iraqi troops in Baghdad have increased their intelligence and skills in detecting and neutralizing so-called very big improvised explosive devices, a military term for car bombs. They said Baghdad residents have phoned in hundreds of tips of suspicious vehicles and activities, which facilitated the foiling of major attacks.
