ISRAELI CHIEF OF STAFF RETIRED FROM ARMY

JERUSALEM [MENL] -- In an unprecedented move, Israel's defense ministry hasannounced that it would not extend the three-year term of Israel DefenseForces chief of staff Moshe Yaalon for a fourth year. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the defense ministry said that thechief of staff will retire from the army in July after only three years aschief of staff and just prior to Israel's disengagement from Gaza.
