U.S. MODIFIES TRAINING PROGRAMS

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The U.S. military has modified training programs forIraq's military and security forces. U.S. officials said training programs launched over the last sevenmonths have been more intensive, focused on counter-insurgency skills andprovided police officers with the capability to defend installations againstinsurgents. They said the training has stressed combat tactics andcommunications along with rapid response.
