U.S. COMPLETES EMERGENCY DEPLOYMENT OF AEGIS BMD

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has completed what officials termedemergency deployment of a naval-based missile defense system. The deployment was reported in wake of the success of the Aegisballistic missile defense system. The Aegis, which contains the StandardMissile-3 interceptor, destroyed a ballistic missile outside the earth'satmosphere during a flight test over the Pacific Ocean last week.
