ISRAEL DEPLOYS DETECTION SYSTEM

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has deployed an advanced detectionsystem that does not require constant monitoring by an operator. The Ground Forces Command has installed the Spider, or StabilizedPanoramic Intruder Detection and Recognition, along the West Bank and GazaStrip. The Spider was meant to instantly detect and alert to possibleintrusion by people or the presence of suspicious vehicles near the Israelisecurity fences along the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The system would alsoalert to the presence of large animals, such as cows or mules, near thesecurity fence.
