U.S. DEVELOPS MOBILE BPI SYSTEM
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has been developing a mobileboost-phase missile defense system. The Defense Department has been directing a $4.5 billion project to develop a Kinetic Energy Interceptor system to destroy enemy ballistic missiles. The Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency intends that such a system be mobile to enable U.S. Army deployment in either the Middle East or other regions.
