GREECE DROPS LEOPARD TANK PROBE

ATHENS [MENL] -- Greece has dropped its investigation into a controversialmain battle tank deal. Greece's chief prosecutor has ended its investigation of the purchase of170 German-origin Leopard-2HEL tanks. The prosecutor determined that therewas no evidence of irregularities in the multi-billion dollar project. Thetanks were scheduled for delivery between 2006 and 2009.
