U.S. MILITARY IN GULF ORDERS SECURITY SYSTEM

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military has ordered security systems toprotect bases in the Gulf and surrounding region. The Defense Department has awarded Northrop Grumman a contract toprovide a security solution to military bases under U.S. Central Command.Officials said the $498 million project would first focus on air force basesin such countries as Afghanistan, Iraqi, Kuwait and Qatar.
