TURKEY WANTS RAPID TANK DEVELOPMENT

ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has been examining the prospect of accelerateddevelopment of a main battle tank. Turkish officials said the Defense Ministry wants to plan a tank programthat will ensure rapid development of an advanced MBT. The tank wouldcomprise Western technology, particularly from Europe.
