The order would be preceded by a demonstration of the indigenous UAV
system. Executives said a trial flight would be conducted in June 2008.
Executives said JARS was developing a family of UAVs. They said the
platforms could be used for military and security operations as well as
surveillance of oil pipelines.
Since 2004, the company has produced and tested several prototypes,
executives said. Jordan Falcon was said to be capable of real-time day and
night reconnaissance, remote sensing, surveillance and target acquisition of
up to a range of 50 kilometers.
The company has also produced the Silent Eye man-portable UAV for
surveillance and search and rescue. The Jordan Arrow was designed as an
aerial target system for land and sea training.
