On April 22, the two Gulf Arab states concluded a session of the
Kuwait-Saudi Arabia technical committee in the sheikdom. The panel has been
seeking to demarcate the border.
"The meeting was part of the steady coordination between the two Arab
countries in the security field," the official Kuwait News Agency, or Kuna,
said.
Kuwait has sought a quick resolution of the border dispute with Saudi
Arabia. The GCC sheikdom plans to locate a major oil refinery in a disputed
area of  Saudi border.
Officials said Kuwait has agreed to move the refinery project to avoid
conflict with Saudi Arabia. They said Riyad has not yet formally agreed to
the new location.
The latest border talks were headed by Kuwaiti Border Security
Department director-general Maj. Gen. Abdullah Yusef Al Mehana. The Saudi
delegation was led by Royal Saudi Navy Vice Adm. Mosfir Bin Saleh Al
Ghamedi.
