NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran is holding its first military air exhibition.The exhibition is taking place on the Persian Gulf island of Kish and is
being attended by 12 Western and other firms. The official Islamic Republic
News Agency said the companies are from Britain, France, Germany, Indonesia,
Italy, Pakistan, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland and Ukraine. Another 40
Iranian companies are also participating in the five-day show, which began
on Wednesday.IRNA did not identify the foreign companies. But the agency said they
were aerospace firms that produced fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters,
navigational systems, avionics and airport equipment.Organizers said the exhibition is presenting advanced aviation systems
and equipment in a space that exceeds more than 80 square kilometers. The
show is open to the public.
