AMMAN [MENL] -- Jordan's military has signed an accord for the upgrade of
armored fighting vehicles.Britain and Jordan have reached agreement on the maintenance and upgrade
of armored vehicles in the military of the Hashemite kingdom. The accord
also includes the prospect of exporting upgraded armored fighting vehicles.The accord was signed by the state-owned King Abdullah II Design and
Development Bureau and Britain's Armoured Base Repair Organisation. The
British firm specializes in the upgrade of AFVs.Executives said the focus of the accord would be Jordan's large fleet of
British-origin vehicles. The two companies, however, would offer overhauls
and upgrades of AFVs to foreign militaries.
