IRAN CLAIMS MISSILE SELF-SUFFICIENCY

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Iran has claimed self-sufficiency in missile development and production.

Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Najar said Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in the production of advanced anti-tank missiles. Najar said state-owned defense contractors have produced missiles that could defeat virtually any combat platform.

"We are among the top six countries in the world in designing and producing such weapons," Najar said.

On Tuesday, Najar inspected a missile production line. The new missile was not identified.
