MOROCCO CONCLUDES PRICE TALKS ON RAFALE

PARIS [MENL] -- Morocco has completed price negotiations for the purchase of the French-origin Rafael fighter-jet.

Dassault Aviation said Morocco has concluded contract negotiations for an unspecified number of Rafale fighters to the North African kingdom. Executives said the proposed sale was being discussed by the governments in Paris and Rabat.

"Industrial negotiations regarding the sale of the Rafale to Morocco have now been completed and are now in the hands of the two governments," Dassault Aviation chairman Charles Edelstenne said. "I can't say when those discussions will end, nor what their final outcome will be."

It was the first time Dassault confirmed Moroccan negotiations to buy Rafale. Industry sources said Rabat was considering the purchase of up to 20 aircraft in what could comprise the first export deal of the advanced French combat aircraft.
