UK Firm Advances In Syrian Oil Project

LONDON [MENL] -- A British firm has begun producing crude oil in Syria.
Gulfsands Petroleum said oil production began at the Khurbet East
facility in Block 26 on July 21. The company, also active in Iraq, said
oil was flowing from the Syrian discovery well in a project that was ahead
of schedule.
