Turkey Could Postpone Nuke Tender Deadline
ANKARA [MENL] -- Turkey has been mulling the prospect of postponing a deadline for the submission of bids for the nation's first nuclear energy reactor.
Industry sources said the Turkish Atomic Energy Authority could set a new deadline to enable additional companies to bid in the nuclear tender. The tender's deadline has been set for Sept. 24 in a process that has attracted interest by major Western and other companies.
"There could be questions that need to be resolved, and Turkey doesn't want to shut out suitable bidders because of a technicality," an industry source said.
