ANKARA [MENL] -- A leading U.S. defense-related firm has acquired a 50 percent stake in a Turkish shipyard.
The Carlyle Group has acquired a 50 percent stake in Turkey's TVK Shipyard. TVK was said to specialize in tankers and other vessels.
"Partnering with Carlyle will enable TVK to expand capacity and enable the production of more sophisticated vessels at a faster rate than what we could have achieved alone," TVK chief executive officer Can Topsakal said.
