TURKEY SAID TO BUILD AIR BASE IN CYPRUS

NICOSIA [MENL] -- Turkey was said to be planning to complete construction ofan air force base in Northern Cyprus. Greek Cypriot officials said they have been monitoring reports thatTurkey's military launched the construction of an air force base in theTurkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. They said the construction was firstdetected in late June in the Karpass Peninsula.
