CAIRO [MENL] -- Algeria has rejected the lowest foreign bidder in a major contract to construct a liquefied natural gas plant.
Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach decided against awarding Britain's Petrofac a project to build the Gassi Touil LNG plant. Sonatrach said Petrofac and its partner, Indonesia's IKPT, failed to satisfy the requirements of the Algerian tender, which has now been offered to Italy's Snamprogetti and Japan's Chiyoda.
