ABU DHABI [MENL] -- A Westerner found stabbed to death in Saudi Arabia has
been identified as a British financial consultant.
Stephen John Havering, 46, was killed and his body was found in the
Saudi city of Khobar on July 30. Officials said Havering was a financial
consultant for the Saudi firm Shoabi Group and Bahrain's Softech Holding.
Officials said an Egyptian man has confessed to killing Havering. They
said Mohammed Mukhlis Shams Dinn, 28, killed Havering in an argument over
money and not in an Islamic insurgency strike.
Shams Din was quoted by sources close to the investigation as saying he
had acted in self-defense. The sources said Shams Din was a translator at
Shoabi.
