IRAQ HALTS JORDANIAN HELICOPTER DELIVERIES

BAGHDAD [MENL] -- Iraq has halted delivery of surplus U.S.-originhelicopters from Jordan. Officials said the UH-1 utility helicopters offered by Jordan could notbe flown under battle conditions. They said the surplus Jordan Air ForceHuey helicopters could not operate reliably in the searing Iraqi summer.
