U.S. DEVELOPS AAM FOR GROUND LAUNCH

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The U.S. military has been developing an advancedair-to-air missile for sea-based launch. The U.S. Army and Navy have overseen a project to transform the AIM-9Xmissile into a sea-based platform. The conversion, conducted by a team ledby Raytheon, would enable the missile to be used in submarine missions.
