Portugal Orders Israeli-origin Air Pod

WASHINGTON [MENL] -- Portugal's military has ordered an Israeli-origin air
navigation pod.
The Portuguese Air Force has selected the Litening Advanced Targeting
system for the F-16 multi-role fighter fleet. The Portugese contract, the
fifth Litening deal with a Western air force, was signed with Northrop
Grumman.
"The selection of Litening by the Portuguese Air Force further
demonstrates a growing interest in Litening's advanced technology, unique
features and high reliability all at a very competitive price and delivery
schedule," Mike Lenon, vice president of Targeting and Surveillance
programs for Northrop Grumman's Defensive Systems Division, said.
